Stephanie Moore Headshot(Leavenworth, Kansas) –  Stephanie Moore, associate professor and program director of exercise science at the University of Saint Mary, has been selected as a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice.

Founded in 1981, the National Academies of Practice is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting affordable, accessible, and quality health care for all. Membership is an honor extended to health care professionals and scholars who have demonstrated excellence in their field and a sustained commitment to advancing interprofessional education, scholarship, research, practice, and policy.

Moore was selected for the NAP Athletic Training Academy and will be formally inducted at the national meeting in March.

“I’m proud to support and advance USM’s commitment to excellence in health professions education through this recognition,” Moore said.

Moore is a Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified Personal Trainer, and Corrective Exercise Specialist. She earned her PhD in Rehabilitation and Health Sciences from the University of Kentucky and has been a faculty member at the University of Saint Mary since 2023. She previously served as a tenured associate professor and founding program director of the professional Master of Science in Athletic Training at California State University, Fresno.

Moore has served on the Managing Board of the California Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Research Committee of the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Specialists, NATA Professional Education Committee, and numerous university committees. She is a recipient of the 2017 Fresno State Provost Award for Promising New Faculty. Her research and clinical interests include prevention and treatment of shoulder injury, statistics and research design, interprofessional collaboration, and methods of evidence-based practice.
